How well do you know your fellow workers? Who among you are leaders, problem solvers, or contributors? How might each of you react when communication and cooperation is paramount?
Recently PNDE staff members found the answers to such questions while gaining more familiarity with one another along the way. This past November, the company’s 30+ employees were divided into teams and locked into escape rooms. With 60 minutes to locate, solve, and apply a series of clues each team was heavily reliant on bonding a collection of individuals into a cohesive team.
Coordinated by Office Manager, Alexis Tenley and Administrative Assistant, Wendy Bailey, the event was held during normal work hours. Allowing employees to be paid for participating in such events further emphasizes the value that the company places on fostering a positive workplace environment while investing in its staff members.
“We held a random draw to determine the teams,” said Alexis. “This allowed us to work closely with those who we might not normally be with during a normal workday. In my case, I was with someone who works in the field and is rarely in the office. We all learned quite a bit about ourselves and one another. I think it’s safe to say that it was a tremendous experience for each of us and we’re looking forward to building upon this experience.”
Operations Manager, Tiffani Ivins explained that such exercises are just another example of how this growing company is demonstrating its core values while advancing professional development and fostering a cohesive work environment.
“Ultimately, team building strengthens interpersonal relationships and cultivates a resilient, high-performing workforce, contributing to the long-term success of our organization. Since we opened our doors nearly seven years ago, we’ve known that maintaining the highest level of service and professionalism hinges on attracting, developing, and unifying the best talent. And so, we will continue to pursue programs that make us better individually and collectively.”
